WebAn Active Directory is some form of software (mostly used in Windows/Microsoft Terms), which holds central Authentication Data (among other things). You cannot configure Mailcow to use a LDAP-Server/Active Directory etc. so employees can't use their Company Passwort with Mailcow. You have to configure the mail-accounts in Mailcow separately.
