On the wind-driven ocean circulation

Web22 de fev. de 2024 · Ocean circulation can broadly be divided into components driven by wind and density differences. Here, we quantify the role of changes to the wind-driven ocean circulation onto global air temperature warming. We find that changes to the wind-driven ocean circulation amplify global warming by 17% from 1979 to 2014. WebThe influence of bottom topography on the wind-driven ocean circulation is investi gated for a homogeneous, /3-plane model with an imposed, steady wind stress curl. The linear model studied by Munk (1950) and the non-linear model studied by Carrier & Robinson (1962) are special cases as is the simple model proposed by Warren (1963) foi
